mp4's are playing at double speed. They play fine through other applications.

Please answer the questions below:
1.
Are you trying to convert a DVD or a file (WMV, AVI, etc.) when you get this error? If you have only tried converting a DVD, please try converting a file and see if you get the same results (or vice versa).
2.
Does your DVD or file play properly in Windows Media Player? In general, if a video can play in Windows Media Player, then it should convert properly in M²Convert.
3.
If you are trying to convert a DVD, what DVD playing software do you have installed on your machine?
4. Where and what is playing at double-speed? In the preview screen? In the resulting converted file?

Thaks for your response. Answers to questions:
1. I am trying to convert a file. 2. I had not tried that one. It plays at double speed in Windows Media Player but normal in quicktime and adobe premier elements 3. Not converting a DVD 4. Both the preview and the converted file.

Looks like we've found the problem. M²Convert uses the exact same technology as WMP to do its work by using the computer's existing video and audio decoders to uncompress the data, then uses our own encoders to recompress the data into the target format (iPod, PSP, etc.). Therefore, if a video does NOT play properly in WMP, then M²Convert will not work.
Most likely, this is a problem with whatever decoder is being used by your DirectShow environment. Would is be possible for you to post the file you are trying to convert?
If the file is greater than 5MB or you do not want to post it publically, then you will need to upload it to our FTP since the forum file size limit is 5MB. In that case, send an email to support@m2solutionsinc.com requesting the FTP instructions and including a link to this forum post.
