10-17-2007, 5:43 yapster Joined on 10-17-2007 Posts 2 playing video files on Archos 605 i just got an archos 605 wifi portable media player last night and i sinked a video file into the media player to test the product out. the current file was in MPEG Layer-3 audio and DivX video format. now as i was watching the movie, every 20-25 mins or so, the sound always turns into static.. making it impossible to hear the movie. by the way, the video was perfectly fine. i was wondering if anyone knew what type of file i need to convert my video/audio files into, so i can watch it without any errors. right now, im converting the file into a WMV codec. anyone know if this will work properly?    Report

10-18-2007, 2:03 yapster Joined on 10-17-2007 Posts 2 Re: playing video files on Archos 605 yeah i tried everything basically. i played the movie file in WMV and DivX player on my PC and it was perfectly fine. i also tried putting a bunch of other movie files into my portable player and they all have the same problem. the static doesnt happen in parts of the movie.. it occurs 10-15 mins after i play the video file on my archos player. i asked some of my friends and they told me it might be a product defect.. im going to the store tomorrow to switch the item for a new one and see if i still have the same problem. anyhow, thanks for the response    Report
