How can I read the displayed conversion-progress-info (in percent)?
Reply Quote
Hi everyone,

I am calling the command-line utility M2CC out of a Java-application. By the use of an input stream I read the output of the programm and display it in my application. How can I get the displayed percent values into my Java-input stream? M2CC shows the current percentage of the progress, but does not write into output-stream!

I could retrieve the progress information, if M2CC would write 100 dots (for 100 % - one after another) into the output. This way i could read the progress of the conversion in my Java input stream. Right now the user sits in front of my application and has to wait until the conversion has finished without any feedback of the conversion progress.

Has anybody an idea?

Kind regards.

My colleague Adam has already answered a similar question you sent through email. In his reply, he suggested using the Multimedia toolkit from LEAD Technologies http://www.leadtools.com/SDK/Multimedia/Multimedia-LE.htm

I would like to add that if you decide to use our M²Convert CMD application, you should contact sales@m2solutions.com to finalize licensing issues before you deploy your application.

Hi Adnan,

thanks for Your answer. You wrote "I would like to add that if you decide to use our M²Convert CMD application". I already have decided and I do use Your application and I already have bought a license (in May 2007)! And as soon as a client is going to buy my software (including M²Convert CMD application) I will buy a new license for that.

So, it would be great if You could add that feature.

Thanks in advance and kind regards

Oliver

This is an update on incident 6429AMN. Our engineers have added a feature that output periodic state changes on a new line while converting your files.
Also, M² Solutions Inc. has released M²Convert API for programmers. Please see this page for information about it:
